We recently came across Edoche, a Seattle based company, on Hautelook. I just had to share them with you. What a fabulous gift idea for the baby on your list! Edoche focuses on the baby gift market with hats, gloves, hooded towels and booties for babies in infant sizes (0-2 yrs). These pieces are designed to coordinate together…so package them up two or three at a time.

If only they made them in my size! I love how cozy they are!

We thought they were so cute, we called the design team to find out more about their story. Eda, the lead designer started the line in 2001 while working as a Mechanical Engineer at Boeing! Quite unexpected, but with her husband’s encouragement she did it! And now, over 600 stores Internationally carry Edoche products. Eda is Turkish and has made a commitment to help the women in Turkey by giving them a chance for employment. These moms work together to hand-stitch each piece. We love that!

During my chat with her publicist, Charlene, I asked her if she could offer one piece of advice to a new designer with a passion for a new idea.  This is what she told us:

“Sometimes what you think is a great idea doesn’t always translate that way to consumers and buyers. When you come up with something you think is great, do your research. Even if it’s just a wide survey, do it so that you have a better idea of what other people think of your new product or design.”
