Holiday Countdown Giveaway #3 is from another LDB favorite. We first discovered Mountains of the Moon on twitter in some very fashionable eco-friendly circles. We instantly fell in love with these feminine designs that were created to look oh, so chic…and by the way, they’re produced using the most earth-friendly methods and material. But these are no potato sacks.
When we first interviewed Chicago-based MOTM designer Melissa Baswell, we learned that she had been investigating ways to create earth-friendly pieces even as a little girl. Far before it was fashionable! Now, her experience is paying off in gorgeous I-must-have-that-for-my-next-holiday-party design.

Now that NY Fashion Week has wrapped up, most fashion editors turn their attention on what European runways will turn out. But there are other shows here in the U.S. that deserve more attention than they generally receive. Portland Fashion Week and Chicago’s Fashion Focus are a couple of our most anticipated fashion shows of the season. You’ll be hearing more about Fashion Focus soon from our new Chicago contributor! In the meantime, we are counting down the days until Portland Fashion Week!

These days, it is all about eco-fashion with a vintage flavor! I found this fabulous piece from Helene Ang, an Australian designer living in Hong Kong. She began edit’d earlier this year as an eco-friendly fashion line focused on a blend of vintage/contemporary style.

I was born in the ’80s from the House of YSL and was picked up in an op shop. I started off [...]

We’ve highlighted a few quality eco-finds since LDB started. We love hearing how designers are concerned with using techniques, fabrics or materials that are socially conscious and working to protect our planet. But I have to be honest. I’ve said it before that eco-friendly doesn’t always equal eco-fashion. And I can NEVER in good faith, recommend a product that doesn’t reflect great design.
So, I’m thrilled to introduce you to a new designer who has made a commitment to using environmentally friendly methods since she was a little girl…long before it was trendy. And, what’s better…her designs are so fabulous and [...]

I’ve been hearing some buzz about this new designer of eco-fashions from Pennsylvania. I’m always a bit skeptical about eco-friendly lines. Don’t get me wrong. I want to do my part to save the planet, too, but if it means weaving skirts using grass and scraps of burlap…no thanks! So I felt the need to investigate further. I was pleasantly surprised by Kate D’Arcy’s new line called Toggery. This line of eco-friendly designs are far from scratchy hemp hanging from your waist. They are beautiful, comfortable, classic designs that all women can make their own. And the price also surprised [...]
