We instantly fell in love with these feminine designs that were created to look oh, so chic…and by the way, they’re produced using the most earth-friendly methods and material. Now that NY Fashion Week has wrapped up, most fashion editors turn their attention on what European runways will turn out. But there are other shows here in the U.S. that deserve more attention than they generally receive. Algiers from Edit’d: A dress with a story

These days, it is all about eco-fashion with a vintage flavor! I found this fabulous piece from Helene Ang, an Australian designer living in Hong Kong. She began edit’d earlier this year as an eco-friendly fashion line focused on a blend of vintage/contemporary style.

This piece is called Algiers and began as a vintage YSL dress and was reworked to become new again. And what adds even more charm to this dress is the story it has to tell.

We’ve highlighted a few quality eco-finds since LDB started. We love hearing how designers are concerned with using techniques, fabrics or materials that are socially conscious and working to protect our planet. But I have to be honest. I’ve said it before that eco-friendly doesn’t always equal eco-fashion. And I can NEVER in good faith, recommend a product that doesn’t reflect great design.

I’ve been hearing some buzz about this new designer of eco-fashions from Pennsylvania. I’m always a bit skeptical about  eco-friendly lines. Don’t get me wrong. I want to do my part to save the planet, too, but if it means weaving skirts using grass and scraps of burlap…no thanks! So I felt the need to investigate further.
