Spent the Day at Unique LA

It was hot, a little humid, and parking was a BI$!% but it was worth it!  If you missed it today, I am here to bring you what we thought were the best of the bunch. I met some amazing designers… all of which (hopefully) you’ll see soon including:

Kauzbots: It is all about robots these days. The Jetson-age is back! These stuffed robot toys come in different colors. Each color indicates a different cause (or “kauz”). Everything from Autism, AIDS, breast cancer, clean drinking water, homelessness, saving the Earth’s trees and more are represented. Click here for more.

Rock Socks: Okay…I’m not really a sock person. (more high-heels, no hose) But I still had to appreciate the uniqueness of these tube socks with word power. Take a look.

Baby Eggi: This line of children’s clothing was so soft and sweet that I couldn’t resist three shirts for my two year-old (at an amazing price, I might add). Designed by a famous LA tattoo artist, these designs are certainly unique. Unlike any kids’ clothing line I have ever seen! I can’t wait for more. Click here to see their current collection.

Michelle Caplan: Michelle creates mixed media collage portraits. I was drawn to them from several booths away! They

are stunning and such a gorgeous way to celebrate a loved one. It might be the history teacher in me (it was a brief career lapse), but I really think that most people would be able to see the value in these pieces. For a custom order, be prepared to save your pennies. They aren’t cheap, but in your home and your family…you can’t put a value on these.

Wendy Hacker-Moss Jewelry: I love jewelry, but at events like these, I feel like it doesn’t get a fair shake. While alone, most handmade pieces are charming and beautiful, but when seen altogether with 20 other jewelry artists, it doesn’t draw my attention. With the exception… of Wendy Hacker-Moss Jewelry. Wow! She uses stainless steel in ways I never thought you could. Take a look and you’ll see what I mean.

amykathryn: Amy’s hot handbags were an incredible deal today! A celebrity favorite, each bag is made from eco-friendly materials that are soft, durable and easy to clean. Not to mention, super cute! Love these!

Thanks so much Unique LA for putting on another show worth attending! Don’t miss the next one. I would imagine there is a holiday show in the works…? We’ll get the details and bring you more info.

Happy Indie Shopping!

  3. I was there too! I agree that it was a great event - I was really impressed with the quality of the designers that were there, and the reasonable prices for unique products. Loved the Kauzbots also….
