Portland Fashion Week: The Preview

Jesica Milton- Portland Fashion Week

I wrote last week about all the reasons why I love this show! It celebrates the indie designer like no other fashion week in this world. And it is becoming the destination for eco-fashion designers and buyers. Only 7 days left ’til we land in Portland! Here are a few of the designers whose collections we are most looking forward to:

Lizzie Parker- A very popular Seattle designer, Lizzie’s looks have also been featured in major fashion pubs including Lucky, WWD and InStyle. I’m intrigued by her past spring collections. Very bright, feminine, sexy, yet comfortable.

Mountains of the Moon- This is a great brand of eco-fashion! Chicago designer, Melissa Baswell has had many years of experience at creating wearable, sustainable pieces that also make a distinct statement of fashion. That is not an easy balance…but Melissa is so talented. This is Eco-Fashion made fashionable!! I can’t wait to see her collection for spring! Click here for our original interview with Melissa.

Anna Cohen- Anna Cohen will be launching her Imperial Collection at Portland Fashion Week. This is a new line “from ranch to runway” funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Anna has truly used Oregon land to create a runway show…from the ground up! This is all part of the sustainable message that Portland is becoming known for.

Jesica Milton- I love Jesica Milton! Her line is small town and yet so sophisticated at the same time. It’s not pretentious, but classy and…oh so chic! Jesica has been fortunate enough to be recognized by major publications in the Pacific Northwest including Seattle Magazine. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for spring!  Click here for our original interview with Jesica.

Jason Matlo-Jason is a Vancouver designer who places a strong emphasis on quality design, luxurious fabrics and detail. I’m interested to see more from Jason. This will be my first time to see Jason’s collection in person. But I’ve been very impressed with what he has produced in years past. His pieces seem sculpted like careful works of art. Love him! He clearly has a tremendous amount of talent!

I know there will be so many more that I can’t wait to tell you about. Check in with us over that week, for more amazing names to know.

We’ll do our best to give you up-to-the hour details on every show!

See you in Portland.
