BagTags USA Happy Beach Bag and Tags

Today’s post is a little different…a different product than what LDB usually shows you, but it’s the brainchild of a very special designer! I’ve met so many unbelievably creative people in the recent months but none with as much persistence as Lizzette Lansang of Bag Tags USA. I was first introduced to Bag Tags at the recent Banana Republic/Bag Lady Promtions event where I was given a swag bag with a sample Bag Tag attached. So when Lizzette called me soon after, I was already familiar with her product.

Bag Tags USA creates custom bag tags with cute messages for every occasion and a signature red loop that attaches to any suitcase, diaper bag, satchel or anything else you might need to tag. Having a tag already, I have to say that I am impressed by the durability of the product. What’s more, I quickly saw how excited Lizzette was to share her products with me, and her persistent follow-up was fantastic!

(Just an aside: when submitting your designs to bloggers for possible review, you might need to remind them of you once or twice before you get a call back…nothing personal, but seriously, we get a bazillion emails a day)

Lizzette launched her business in January 2007. Since then, she has not looked back. She makes a point of reaching a new contact to share her story with everyday. In fact, she said something so poignant in our interview: “If I don’t reach _________ today, I’ll reach someone else tomorrow.” That is awesome!

As a designer myself, I know how tough it is to  hear “no” too many times in a row. But remember that your niche market will LOVE you. And Lizzette’s hard work and persistence has certainly paid off. Hundreds of celebrities can look forward to seeing Bag Tags USA at, get this…the 2009 Emmy Awards!
