These Aprons are Over the Top!

overthetop1

If you have a little girl, these aprons are so perfect to bake up a little something with mom in the kitchen. Oh my! When I first saw them I wondered if I could get my 2 1/2 year old son to wear one. Corline, the designer behind Over the Top Aprons, creates aprons for every woman to reflect her personal style. She keeps an eye on latest fashion trends and incorporates them into many of her designs.
She revealed to me that her design process really begins with the fabric choice. It “leads the way” toward the final product. [...]

Lovin ‘Lina Bean

gwenburp

When I was first introduced to Caroline Ritter’s line, ‘Lina Bean, I was so impressed by her aesthetic. Actually, the first thing out of my mouth, and I said it out loud was, “when is she going to create a crib/children’s bedding line!?” I LOVE her fabric choices. They are playful but not your expected baby prints. As she says on her site, “babies don’t have to wear baby prints.” Amen to that!   ‘Lina Bean has boy, girl and unisex collections, each of which encourage you to “accessorize your sprout” with a coordinated burp [...]

Baby Find! A Sweet Slumber

cribsheets

Carolyn and Diane are two designers/inventors in the world of great baby finds. They created Engage Environments when they saw a need for bedding that was not designed to fit a trend, but instead met the developmental needs of babies. Their story is a great example of how design inspiration can come from a need for function over fashion…as we usually think of it.
My little ones are too old now to take advantage of such beautiful and thoughtful products. But after two infants and one with severe colic, take it from me, that a serene sleep environment is a fundamental [...]

Pocket Peelies- fun denim for kids!

Pocket Peelies

I’m starting off our little black designer book with an amazing new designer/inventor out of St. Louis, MO. Last fall, I saw a press release for a brand new product called Pocket Peelies. As soon as I read it, I knew that I had to find out more information. What an adorable idea! These premium denim jeans have an adjustable waist and are made for both boys and girls. But the fabulous feature about these jeans is that the back pockets are removable! The first pair of jeans I bought came with three pockets of my choice. Kids can share [...]

Bubbie Blue is Saving the Earth- one lovie at a time!

Lovies by Bubbie Blue

If you consider yourself a eco-friendly new mommy, (or you know someone who is…and who doesn’t, these days) then you absolutely must know about this new product! Brianne and Christa began making lovies by Bubbie Blue to offer their own baby boys a 100% organic cotton alternative to many of the more harmful synthetic blankets on the market. They quickly whipped up two lovies for each boy to snuggle with and they were a huge hit!
After the great idea was sanctioned by two very little people, the idea soon grew into a successful line of transitional, eco-friendly baby items.
When describing [...]

Warm Up Baby with Edoche

edoche-baby-booties

We recently came across Edoche, a Seattle based company, on Hautelook. I just had to share them with you. What a fabulous gift idea for the baby on your list! Edoche focuses on the baby gift market with hats, gloves, hooded towels and booties for babies in infant sizes (0-2 yrs). These pieces are designed to coordinate together…so package them up two or three at a time.
If only they made them in my size! I love how cozy they are!
We thought they were so cute, we called the design team to find out more about their story. Eda, the lead [...]
