Little Designer Book will be in Long Beach this weekend for the Epremier Women’s Expo sponsored by Bravo TV. Tickets are $30 and still available at the door. Spent the Day at Unique LA

It was hot, a little humid, and parking was a BI$!% but it was worth it! If you missed it today, I am here to bring you what we thought were the best of the bunch. I met some amazing designers… all of which (hopefully) you’ll see soon including:
Kauzbots: It is all about robots these days. The Jetson-age is back! These stuffed robot toys come in different colors. Each color indicates a different cause (or “kauz”). Everything from Autism, AIDS, breast cancer, clean drinking water, homelessness, saving the Earth’s trees and more are represented. Click here for more.

If you missed the Downtown show earlier this spring, you missed out! Hundreds of new designers met together to give shoppers an opportunity to find their new favorites. But, not to worry. Unique LA is back for a smaller show (but sure to be just as “unique”). If you are in the L.A. area, carve out some time in your weekend and let us know what you find. Here are the details:

LDB is heading to the EPremier Women’s Expo in L.A.

Little Designer Book will be attending the EPremier Women’s Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center August 28-30th.
We are on the lookout for some fabulous new finds to tell you about. If you plan to be there, please let us know. We’ll stop by and say hi. Gretchen Rossi of Real Housewives of O.C. will be there along with Bravo TV’s Millionaire Matchmaker, Patti Stanger; celebrity stylists, award-winning authors and 40,000 other people. This has promised to be an amazing event in celebration of women.

Kickin’ Cancer with Kitchen Couture

A few weeks ago, we told you about an event sponsored by one of LDB’s favorite designers, Kitchen Couture. Well, the photos are in, the money has been counted and I’m excited to report on behalf of Kitchen Couture and Sail Through Cancer, the benefit was a success! My husband, Joe and I attended along with over 100 others and a handful of celebrities for food and drinks, casino tables and raffle prizes (including aprons by K.C.).

Kempt at the 2009 Independent Handbag Designer Awards

Recently, an LDB favorite, Kempt Handbags attended the Independent Handbag Designer Awards as a finalist in the category of “Best use of Crystallized Swarovski Elements”. I recently had the opportunity to talk with Kempt designer Erin Voorhies again. This time she shared with us her experience at the gala, the industry players who attended, and the outcome of the competition.
