If you still haven’t walked away a winner, we still have three more weeks of amazing designer pieces to give away. This week is no exception. For the mommies on your list, The Gebbie Cloth is the new must-have item that no new mom should go without. In fact, why it took thousands of years to come up with this idea…I’ll never know.
This wrap-around burp cloth fastens around mom’s neck to keep it from falling to the floor. It also protects dry clean only clothing from spit up. Why didn’t I think of that?

Talk about a Stocking Stuffer!
Erica is one of the most interesting, self-motivated designers I’ve met in a long time. Her concept for fun, witty socks is so fun and a little bit nuts. We first met Erica at Unique L.A. about a month ago and even thought I’m not much of a sock girl, I couldn’t help but get drawn over to her booth. Even I had to admit…these socks are hot! Sit back and enjoy…ROCK SOCKS!
LDB: So what first got you started in designing socks?
RS: For years I’ve worn shorts and knee socks as my everyday “uniform” the way [...]

Check out this newly discovered collection of tee’s for the good girl who’s lucky in love…and lucky in bed! For T’s, prices range from $32-$45. For a fashion statement…I’ll take it!
Every Little Counts is an L.A.-based graphic T-shirt company that launched their business for Valentine’s Day 2008. Founder and designer Amy Snider says, “The aim is to connect with the closet romantic; girls and women who secretly believe in a hidden world of romance and drama.”
Although Amy’s company began in 2008, she was hardly new to the business of fashion & design. As a child, she grew up in Massachusetts [...]

Today I stopped in to visit a local business near my house that sells beautiful candles. Love them but sometimes forget they’re there. I’m so glad I popped in today, though. Kevin, the owner of the shop met me at the door and we just got to talking. Why did I just now stop in when the store is literally a mile from my house? I didn’t have a great answer. But after a good conversation with him, I’m convinced that consumers don’t shop within their communities because they don’t fully understand the benefits to THEM if they do so.
After [...]

Holiday Countdown Giveaway #3 is from another LDB favorite. We first discovered Mountains of the Moon on twitter in some very fashionable eco-friendly circles. We instantly fell in love with these feminine designs that were created to look oh, so chic…and by the way, they’re produced using the most earth-friendly methods and material. But these are no potato sacks.
When we first interviewed Chicago-based MOTM designer Melissa Baswell, we learned that she had been investigating ways to create earth-friendly pieces even as a little girl. Far before it was fashionable! Now, her experience is paying off in gorgeous I-must-have-that-for-my-next-holiday-party design.
So we [...]

LAST CHANCE TO ENTER TO WIN!
We’re moving into our second week of our six week Holiday Countdown Giveaway. This week, The House of Lux is sponsoring our holiday giveaway by offering one lucky reader this adorable winter wrap coat for the little girl on your list.
We think that vintage designs are not just for mom and dad anymore. The House of Lux is known for 20’s, 30’s and 40’s-inspired fashion…for your kids. So cute! We first met Angela Vickers, the designer behind The House of Lux online about a year ago and we fell in love with her idea. We’ve [...]

This year brings us a growing new challenge: How to stand out amidst the holiday rush in a tight economy. We all know that consumers are still going to buy. But what they buy will be the result of more research and considerable planning.
This was certainly confirmed during Black Friday shopping this year as reported by Mashable.com. The good news was that online retailers saw an average purchase of $170.19, a 35% increase over last year. This report also indicated that online retailers had an average bounce rate 40% higher and browsing sessions 5% lower than last season. This suggests [...]

If you’re a fashion entrepreneur or just a lover of new design, don’t miss the sale happening next week at Fashion Business Inc in the California Market Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
FBI will be sponsoring an evening for twelve new designers to showcase their lines. You’ll have the chance to browse, shop and mix with other members of the business. Cocktails will be provided, of course. But bring cash and business cards! This sounds like a fun event. Let me know if you’re planning to be there. I’ll look for you.
Happy Shopping!
