Ximena Valero put on an amazing show last night at Fashion Business Inc. in the California Market Center! Her looks seemed inspired by the city of L.A. with bold colors, light fabrics and flowing “care-free” designs. Stacy Elder Herb (Little Designer Book’s newest contributor) joined me for a night of mingling with interesting designers, photographers, celebrity stylists, press, educators, and financiers. We had a great time with Anyes Galleani, Ken Wengrod, designer Andru Wallace and FBI’s Frances Harder.
Here are some of our favorite looks from the show…we were so close, so sorry if you’re looking up the models’ dresses. Professional photos will be coming soon. If you live in the warmer climates, these looks are definitely for you. Most were slim on t0p, but pay particular attention to the detail in the straps. Some of them are braided and many are weaved. I love the added detail to those areas of the garment that otherwise would be quite simple. These dresses (both long and short) are great options for the warmer climates through the summer and early fall.
Fashion Business Inc. (FBI) recognized Ximena’s quality and attention to detail, in addition to a great show. At the end of the night, FBI presented her with a $600.00 scholarship to help launch her new collection. We will certainly look forward to seeing more from Ximena in the coming years.
Also to come…we are thrilled to announce that LDB has confirmed an interview with Ximena herself! We’ll have much more to come from her, her fall collection and future plans for her line very soon.
Thanks Fashion Business Inc. and Ximena Valero for a great show!

Great runway show! I really enjoyed the contrast of soft flowy fabrics and a sexy vibe
Can’t wait for the interview with Ximena Valero. Thanks for highlighting new designers so we all can enjoy.
Thanks! It was really fun. I’ll keep you all posted on the next one. Usually seven designers are included in one show!
